I remember Warner Sallmans paintings.”The Lord is My Shepherd and “Jesus Knocking at Your Heart’s Door” from Sunday School as a child. Tomorrow I am speaking at chapel for our Seniors at our Independent and Assisted Living Centers using these 2 two favorites which Im sure the residents will remember as fondly as I do! Im so excited to have these framed and to be able to bring them and use them to share Christs great love for all of us!!!! What a gift God gave Mr. Sallman with the brush!!!

Some of my earliest conceptions of how Christ Jesus, Emmanuel, appeared were influenced by the artwork of Warner Sallman. Thanks for the additional information. I will make it a point to check out his artwork at Iowa Methodist the next time I’m up there.

Thank you for your interest in Lights-4-God. My resources don’t say much about Charles Jr. I did however find this tidbit: “Thomas succeeded his father as pastor of the Tabernacle, and Charles, Jr., took charge of the orphanage his father had founded.”

Do you have any information (timeline) on Charles Spurgeon Jnr (the twin son)? I understand he preached in India in 1893 or 4 as I have the diary of my missionary grandfather at that time. But my grandfather was not sure if it was Thomas or Charles he heard. All a bit late to ask him now!

I love John W. Peterson’s music. As a child, I would play in the pew while my mom practiced his cantatas with our church choir. So, as a child, I learned all the words to So Send I You, Down From His Glory, Jesus Is Coming, etc. He used so much scripture! And now it’s in my heart! My favorite JWP song is At Calvary. My favorite Peterson Trio song is Whatsoever Things are True. God blessed hubby and I with twelve children. We couldn’t afford music lessons for the kids, but we collected guitars, mandolins, banjos, etc from yard sales and learned by ear. We go around to churches and nursing homes singing JWP’s wonderful scriptural music! He has been a great blessing in my life, and I will tell him so in glory!

My oldest brother became a Christian through the Navigator’s ministry at Mankato State University (Mankato, MN). Because of his conversion and subsequent witness to me, I too, surrendered my life to Christ!
